This sequence incorporates movements with large ranges of motion, overhead stability, and most importantly - moving like a kid! Your kiddo will be involved in all three movements and is sure to result in lots of giggles for the both of you.

Workout

Perform 3 rounds of:

5 Clean and Press

50ft Overhead Baby Walk

5 Get Up and Down

Note: It goes without saying, but I will say it. Please make sure a) your ceilings are high enough for the overhead work and b) you scale the reps/distance accordingly for the first two exercises based on the age and neck control of your baby.

Movement Tips

  • Baby Clean and Press - Start with your feet hip to shoulder width apart, with your little one on the floor between your legs facing up. Squat down and safely grab your baby under their armpits, while maintaining a flat back. Rapidly stand and press baby overhead. Baby will be facing you again. Reverse the process to lay baby back down on the floor and repeat.
  • Overhead Baby Walk - Hold your baby and lock your arms out overhead. Walk for 50ft. Encourage baby to be an airplane.
  • Get Up and Down - Start lying down, and get up to standing without using your hands. Then go back down without using your hands. If your kid is old enough, encourage them to do it next to you. If he/she isn't old enough, they are sure to giggle watching a grown man struggle to get up and down from the ground.

Dad Tips

  • The healthiest, most successfully athletic kiddos are the ones that participate in a large variety of sports and activities while growing up. Expose them to it all and let them choose their movement path as they age!
