Gaby’s Playground HIIT

Any park with an intermediate size play structure will do for this workout. I would do this workout when my daughter Gaby was small and had to use our play time to get my workout in. This workout is best for young kids that can walk and/or run. You can be flexible with the number of rounds.

Workout

 5 Rounds of:

5 Seal Jacks

5 Squat Thrust and Kid Toss

1 Crossing of Monkey Bars

3 Pull Ups

7 Push Ups

9 Kid Balance Crunches

Movement Tips

  • Seal Jacks - This movement is similar to a regular Jumping Jack. Instead of the arms moving overhead, you move them from straight out front to side.
  • Squat Thrust and Kid Toss - Hold your child under their armpits and enter into the bottom of a squat. Stand up quickly while maintaining a flat back, press the child up overhead until they float a few inches from your hands. Only perform the toss if you and your child is comfortable.

Kid Balance Crunches - Perform crunches with kid balanced on your shins.
